Green certification, the Arya Residences in BCC Taguig

Standard

ArthaLand Corp. is brandishing not just one but two green certifications for its property development Arya Residences which highlight the company’s thrust towards ecologically-responsive development for this first project in Bonifacio Global City.

The two-tower residential project at the corner of McKinley Parkway and 7th avenue has earned its second green building certificate, this time from the local Philippine Green Building Council which established the Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE).

This makes Arya Residences the first residential project to have green building certifications, and two at that.

“Greening the real estate sector is a very important step for all the stakeholders in the industry. Standardizing the greening measure is a major step to encourage developers to take the sustainability thrust seriously,” said Angi de Villa-Lacson, Arthaland president.

Bonifacio Taguig Property Opened To Bidding | The Manila Bulletin Newspaper Online

Standard

MANILA, Philippines — The Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) has decided to conduct a competitive bidding for the over 30-hectare South Fort Bonifacio property in Taguig City.

This decision effectively turned down the unsolicited proposal of the SM Land Inc. for the more than 50-hectare South Bonifacio property in Global City as it deemed the P36,900 per square meter offer too low for the prime property as nearby areas are now fetching between P70,000 to P80,000 price per square meter.

BCDA President and CEO Arnel Paciano Casanova disclosed they have already submitted this recommendation to President Aquino who ordered for a review of the SM proposal to ensure the government has maximized its benefits from the sale of this prime property.

"The idea is to simply bid out,"

Casanova said noting that BCDA is of the opinion that the SM offer "could even be better".

Dolphy at Heritage Memorial Park Taguig City

Standard

Dolphy died on Tuesday night of multiple organ failure brought about by acute pneumonia, renal failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He would have been 84 on July 25. His remains lie at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City.

“The past month had been a roller-coaster ride for the family,” Eric said. “Sometimes Dad was OK, sometimes he wasn’t. I had hoped that the last one was just one of those episodes and that he would eventually surpass it. I guess it came to a point when his body could no longer tolerate the medication. He fought hard, but his body was just too weak. We’re all suffering now. We’re all vulnerable. We’re mourning for our father.”
