MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Sitio Una in Taguig City were given a playground with handwashing stations aimed at reminding the children the importance of handwashing as an effective way to prevent diseases.
Paul Perez, co-founder of Play Pilipinas, said the playground was designed by architecture student Howard Lorenzo as a result of the partnership with play experts Play Pilipinas and Procter & Gamble, makers of Safeguard.
“The design is characterized by a multi-level structure that deliberately encourages movement and enhances decision-making capabilities of the child,” said Perez during the celebration of the 5th year of Global Handwashing Day yesterday.
