MANILA, Philippines – It’s a welcome sight as we walk along 26th Street going to our office from The Fort.

They’re the latest art installations to be found amongthe expanse of greens at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC). It is the second to be featured in BGC’s offsite gallery.

The first was Leeroy New’s Psychopomp Reef.

Both, according to the BGC are part of the business center’s public art program managed by the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc.

The latest installation is called imagiNATION by artist Plet Bolipatas.

Here you will see a pair of giraffes, kangaroos, tigers, elephants, and octopuses made of metal and recycled tin cans.

They can be seen hovering over mosaic benches made from cast iron bathtubs, cement, broken tiles, and mirrors. Lines from songs such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" can be found in these benches.

Bolipatas said that she took inspiration from the Great Flood after Typhoon "Pedring" hit her community in Zambales last year.
